On Site Activities
Cultural Activities
No other resort in New Mexico offers you such open access to this fascinating culture. The unique location of Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa and its partnership with the Pueblo give you unequalled entrance to the history and civilization of the people of Santa Ana Pueblo. Each day, we offer our guests the opportunity to explore their lifestyles through art, education and everyday activities.
Tamaya Bread Baking Demonstrations
Traditional Pueblo bread baking is demonstrated in the grand courtyard with our authentic Huruna. Sample the fresh loaves as they come out of the oven with your choice of butters and jams. Each baking session is hosted by a different tribal member from the local pueblos, who will share with you their own personal stories and family traditions.
Native American Dancing and Flute Performance
Flute Playing and Tribal Dances are presented in the resort’s courtyard on select weekends. Observe time-honored tribal dancing or listen to a traditional flautist, as they transport you back in time.
Tamaya Cultural Museum and Learning Center
The Tamaya Cultural Museum and Learning Center, located in the Plaza of the Generations, contains a complete retrospective of this Pueblo community’s Tribal History. You’ll be enlightened by their journey to find this land and the developments they achieved in their culture, social values, religion, agriculture and form of self-government over the centuries. Your visit will be hosted by a member of the tribe, who can assist you with questions you may have regarding their way of life.
